Description:
SYTDesign Consultants was retained by University of New England as part of the design team for four student residence halls at Biddeford, Maine campus.  SYTDesign Consultants was responsible for site and utility designs, construction documents and administration, and environmental permitting. The buildings were carefully laid out to retain specimen oaks and to avoid costly ledge removal. The project also required significant upgrades to the existing utility infrastructure to accommodate an additional 650 beds.

Development of the project required stringent environmental reviews by the City of Biddeford, Department of Environmental Protection, The Army Corps of Engineers and the Saco River Corridor Commission. The design and construction of the residence halls was completed on a fast-track schedule in order to accommodate incoming students.
